Biographical Note

Dr. jur. Kurt Rosenberg was born in Hamburg, Germany, in 1900. He worked as a lawyer and was a keen observer of the social scene in Germany. In 1927 he got married to Dr. med. Margarethe Levinson. In 1937 he went on an exploratory trip to the United States and emigrated in 1938 with his wife and their daughters, Thekla-Maria and Gabriele. They settled in Mount Vernon, NY. He worked in an export business until 1956, when he was readmitted to the bar in Germany and took on restitution cases. He died in 1977.
