Biographical Note

Tony (Antonie) Frenkl, née Frischmann was born 1914 in Vienna, Austria, where she lived at Geyergasse in the 18th Viennese district. After graduating high school at "Realschule 7", she studied at the art and graphic design school, "Graphische Lehr- und Versuchsanstalt". After “Anschluss”, she was arrested for one night in May of 1938. She left Austria in December of 1938 for Italy and immigrated to the US in 1940, where she worked as a commercial artist.
